Triple A plus Wide Ovals and drive her/him/it 24/7/12 ! If you want to look at it buy a picture and hang it. This is a fine car built to drive...I'll usually switch to the jeep when the road salt comes out, otherwise.....
i love driving mine but with a wife and two kids its just not realistic...i still manage to drive it as much as the dd...just come home to get the yukon to tote the family around...it would be an ok single man's dd
I use mine as a semi-dd. I switch between my pickup and the Z depending on where I'm going and the weather. I do a lot of driving and the Vette makes a lousy day a whole lot better, plus it gets double the gas mileage of my truck. There's a point in favor of driving it every day. I find it a comfortable highway cruiser, I've also done many long distance trips in it. '03 now at 74k miles.
However, I would use another vehicle. I daily drive my Z in the summer time(4 months) for seasonal work. Then I use my work vehicle during the other 8 months. My car has 85k on it, and electrical gremlins, no spare tire(ok if you go with runflats), and cooling issues have been my concern.
These cars can go 150-250k, but you will eventually break down. I use our 07 civic when the urge to drive the Z isn't that bad.
I just got my Z about a month ago (which will be my DD) but have had two C5 coupes that I have used as DDs. I live in the Philly area. They make for fine DDs. We get maybe 3 decent snow accumulations a year and for those 3 days I just am extra careful driving, leave work early or work from home until the roads are cleared up usually within a day. And then I try to keep the undercarriaged hosed to prevetn too much salt damage. Outside of that, no issues besides a year-round smile on my face.
Recently got mine and so far there's nothing i can complain about. As simple as goin to get some dinner last night, turned into short drive around the area lol.
DD here as well... as well as another socal resident. 15 mile commute= 45 minute drive each way. ever since i got the Z i have no urge to ride my bike (01 hayabusa) anymore, though i prolly should seeing as how the weather is nice out. the Z just puts a bigger smile on my face!

Smiles are certain when behind the wheel of a Z.
Nothing like daily driving a Speedway White Zo6 huh?
Daily drive mine with no problems. Heat, traffic, and snow before I had a second car. My commute is only about 8 miles but I am heading in and out of the Lincoln tunnel area. Some days its fine and some days its not so fine.
Overall no regrets. If I am gonna be stuck in traffic I'd rather be in a sweet car.
My 01 is my primary car here in Florida so plenty hot and plenty of rain, no snow. Plusses, good milage, comfortable (in my book), quick when you want it, and good looking. Oh and for milage mine is nearing 102K and nobody believes it. About to put another set of F1s on it, clutch has been changed once. Best yet, they can be had all day long in the low to mid $20s so the difficult question is, Corolla, Accord, Colbalt, or a Z06? Was there really a question, nope!!!
I've driven all kinds of cars in my life to work etc. but since owning the z06 (only 6-months now), nothing compares. I drive mine every chance I get. I just resently got in an accident with mine (my fault), but anyway, I've been driving my backup cars/pick up, it's just not enjoyable. The Z06 might spoil you as it has me!

Drive the car every chance that you get. I drive mine (03 Z06) 20 miles a day round trip. I do not drive it in the snow if I can help it. It has been snowed on here in Denver but.... Makes a fine daily driver!
Personally, I wouldn't want to subject my Z to the daily grind, not because it wouldn't be a great dd, but just all the extra wear and tear it puts on a car. jmho....
