I have found an '04 C5 Z06, red, black, very near perfect, two minor flaws-- rear window tint will need to be replaced, and A/C display has faded, GMPP will cover A/C. Add-ons--cold air intake, Borla, polished Comm. wheels, short throw, rear partition--very quiet, tires have 4k on them, 2nd owner, this unit has been babied; wouldn't even go for test drive until it reached operating temp. All fluids flushed, Mobile 1/5K, flushes clutch master monthly, hand washed weekly, monthly wax, third corvette he has owned. Garaged at work and home both owners, virtually blemish free but........83K on the clock, 500 mile weekly commute for past year............Wants $22K. I've driven several including an '04 C5 that rolled 10K on my test drive, this car felt like that one, I think it was a Wednesday car; no record of either owner using GMPP! I'm thinking about going for it.

Opinions????????
Thank you for your help
maybe keep looking for a lower mileage car? 83k miles on 2004 is a lot of miles. Any GM car has a strong potential of literally starting falling apart at 100k miles... 500 miles for last year's weekly commute still leaves you with over 50k that were driven over the other 4 years. If anything every happens where you want to get some kind of help from GM, they will not look friendly at the mileage on this car. For another few grand more, you have a very good chance of finding one with not even half of the mileage of this one.
The mileage concern is buy it. These cars are basically bullet proof. You might have to replace a clutch rebuild a gear box but not like the olden days these roll for 2-300k miles easy Best of luck a great price

nothing is bulletproof, especially GM cars approaching 100k miles with plenty of electronics and mechanical parts that are both expensive to replace and of limited life expectancy. You are not looking at Toyota or Honda, this is GM. Personally, I would prefer to be the one putting the miles on the car than getting a supposedly good deal on one that someone else used quite intensively over a very short span of time. This is just me though. After buying a few cars over a pretty long period of time, I have learned that people usually have a pretty good reason to get rid off their cars and it is smarter to haggle with someone asking more for a true weekend warrior than jumping on a deal that seems great from the start. Different points of view I guess.
C5's are according to many and myself included, the best Vette ever made. There are things other than a clutch or radiator or air conditioning that will need to be replaced with that mileage. Pay now or pay later. Even if nothing goes wrong, how will you ever sell it?
Go for less mileage unless the price is so low, future repairs-like electronics-won't matter.
Do what's best for you and enjoy!
Be safe
