Default will it pass

iam looking into getting long tube headers from dynatech and borla stinger exhaust on my stock 02 as well as haltech air intake...question is is that iam from maryland harford county and my understanding is that long tube headers are illegal everywhere but does that mean they will still pass emissions even using hi flow cats or will it fail the emissions as this is done every two years...in addition or does it mean it will not pass inspection in md when sold not that iam gonna sell it as i love it...i just dont want to buy the headers and fail emissions because of it...anyone have answers???? THANKS

Why not check with a reputable shop that does emissions testing and see if they would fail the car based on what you want to do. Might save you a lot of hassle and money.

In Md the state has its own ctr to do emissions that's the problem it is not done by a shop... Is anyone on here from Md with headers longtube installed and passed on the emissions station? Thanks for the advice though!

you should be able to get the information you seek from a reputable exhaust shop or a high performance shop in your area. while they don't do the actual inspections, they should know what will and won't pass the state exams if they are doing the work. i'm sure they're not going to do things that will have the customers back at their doors complaining about failed emission tests.

spoke to emissions ctr tonite and they said if the manufacturer of the long tube headers can show they are legal in md go for it but that still does not mean it will pass inspection...they said if it failed on the plugin test and did a visual inspection and noticed the headers then you will not be eligible for an extension on the test as the exhaust was modified...sounds to me Md sucks anyone agree?
