C5 Wired in the Trunk?? HELP

You can easily see if its hooked up by pulling the kick panel (or footpanel) on the pass side (two locking tabs like the cover on the cargo bins in back) and also removing the right side rocker panel/door sill covering (that just pulls off, some velcro and a few tabs lock it in).
Niether of those require any tools for you to have a look.
Depending on what you buy, you will probably hook it up in front where it starts to go to the back.
When you see what you have, and what you intend to buy (and how that will need to hook up) you can drop by here or better, the audio section
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/audio-electronics-20/
and someone will be along to help with the hook up.
Its gonna be an easey thing to do and having digital (ipod) collection beats having to deal with CD's hands down.
Good luck.

You can get one that connects directly to the back of the head unit, but that requires you to pull the head unit (not a major thing but takes a while).
Others will connect right at the plug by the passenger footwell, those do require that you get an adapter that is pretty much like the cable that would be there if the car was wired from the factory for a 12 CD changer (just shorter).
And others connect to the oem 12 CD cable.
Pretty sure they all require an adapter of some sort; an interface with plugs that connect to the GM harness on one side and an input (rca's or d-sub mini) to connect to the output of the ipod.
Poke around over here if you want to see whats available to interface into the GM system

Its just the first link I pulled up.
I did this when I added the XM reciever to the car, and then also used it to input the sound from the car PC I added later, but it was a while ago, sorry I dont have the exact name for the adapter I used.
But ist definitly very doable, just run what you plan to buy by someone in the audio section before you buy it, or you probably could even stop by a BestBuy and bring a cup of coffee to one of the installers who would be able to tell you if what you are lookign at will work together.
