For the past 2 or 3 weeks the temp on my climate control is reading about 40-45 degree below the actual temp, I am in Florida and it may be 90 out side and the temp reads 48, when I turn the a/c on the light in the button flashes repeatadly. I have also noticed that the air coming out of the vents seems to not be as cold as it use to be. First off can this being off by so much have any affect on the temp of the air coming out of the vents and secondly how is this repaired? I assume there is a sensor somewhere, is it difficult to replace? costly?
Sorry if I may sound like I am an idiot, first of all my C5 has 122k miles and has never broken down or needed major repair and secondly I am a mechanical guy not electrical.
Any comments or links would be greatly appreciated.
You need a Exterior Climate Sensor, you can get one for about 12.99 at the dealership. It's located on the right hand side of the car down in the front (a little lower than where the air intake is) my locations may be a little off but I think there is a thread on here explaining the exact location. But in any event it is a quick and inexpensive fix.
