C4 guy wandering in..... long story short- how much does the targa top weigh and how hard is it to remove, store, and replace?
from a not getting any younger 86L coupe guy with a bad knee that wonders how he lifts the C4 targa... just in case he enters C5 land!
No more then 15-20 pounds. I'm 33 y/o and can take the top off myself and out it in the rear compartment in about 30-40 second if that, it's very easy. I believe the C4 have a screw in styly latch the C5's have a lever very easy compared to you guys. You will love your C5

I don't know what the C5 targa weighs, but I am a 57 YO guy with a bad knee who was able to deal with the C4 targa. I now have a C5 and the C5 body color targa is a bit lighter, and is much easier to remove, store and replace than the C4 Lexan top. The C5 smoked Lexan top is a bit easier still.
Thanks guys- my bride isn't a fan of my 4+3 transmission, but would very happily drive an auto C5. She's petite- like 5'6". Can she swing removing the top? Also, I looked at Mid America- C4s have a road worthy temporary top- I didn't see one for the C5. Is there one? I know- just go with the vert!

She would no doubt have difficulty removing & storing...harder to put back on because it needs to be aligned properly as you know.
Very easy for a 6 footer. I have mine off & stored in less than one min.

The glass targa top is very light weight - the fiberglass one obviously much heavier. But either is still light enough for one person to take off and put on the car. As to how it is attached to the car, there are two latches in front and one in the middle of the rear that just unlatch and the top comes off. No need for a ratchet wrench like on the C4.
