I currently am the proud owner of a 2000 coupe. It is automatic with all stock options except a SLP cold air intake. My question is about coolant temp. In normal everyday driving my coolant temp runs about 194 to 196 degrees. Is this where other C5 owners notice their coolant temps in routine driving? Also, today I was driving in stop and go driving (red lights etc. ) and noticed the coolant temp go up to 201 to 203 degrees, which made me a little nervous. It also should me mentioned that is very hot today with the temperture in the 90s with 90+ % humidity. Should I be concerned? I have two long trips coming up and would like to take the vette.

Your car runs on the low side 190 to 230 is pretty normal op temps
Depending on where your fans are set, the large fan comes on in the upper 120's,
(or when you switch on the AC)
so it won't get much hotter than that unless you have some sort of cooling issue...

standard daily conditions (almost all year around) where i live, lol. i have an 04 convert and even if the temps gauge starts to head north, the fans kick in at about 120 (give or take a bit) and that usually takes sitting in traffic mid day with the a/c on. i can sit and watch the fans reduce the temp on the DIC panel. usual operating temp is between 192 and 210.
Be sure to check the space in front of the radiator for debris. C 5's are like vacuum cleaners. I check mine every few months and am always surprised at the debris that gets trapped there.
