In you car..AC Delco, Optima......My AC Delco leaked acid all over my positive battery terminal and died..I replaced it with a Sears Diehard Gold...Should I have went with an Optima? I heard they don't leak and don't want this happening again..

I put this in my car, and i was amazed at how weak my 5 yr old AC delco was. My Z06 started SO much faster than it used to.
Its military grade casing, and the same glass mat technology as the AC Delco. High ratings on Consumer reports too. Its expensive, but I don't skimp on anything I put in my Corvette. Its the P3 that Sears sells. I just heard so many good and bad things about the Optima I decided to go with this instead.
I have a Sears Platinum Battery. It's no more expensive than a Red Top Optima but much better materials and quality. It's on the heavy side but that's not an issue for me.

I replaced my AC Delco for that very reason with a gel core Optima Red Top, which I have been blessed with good service since I bought it. But I never let it sit for more than two weeks without putting the Float charger on it. I understand that the Optima red top does not respond well if you let go dead on you and you recharge it, but it will never hold the same charge as when it was new. They make the Optima Yellow Top which is designed to withstand deep discharge and recharging. Just my $0.02
