Headlight bangs when closing

My right headlight works fine on my 02 while going up or going down.No gear grind ,but it "bangs" when it closes.Happened after changing bulbs.

Can't figure out what to adjust.

Any clues?

is there anything underneath the headlight door?

make sure all the screws are fully inserted and not sticking out

close the headlights and look at the door cover, is it touching or close to the hood or bumper anywhere? it can be adjusted if so.

do both of them do it or just one? Maybe stand out by them and have someone sit inside and turn them on/off.
Not that I have a clue, just thought maybe some specifics might help whoever DOES know

It's just the right light.Didn't see anything in the way of the door and didn't see any signs of any rubbing or sticking.No loose screws.

Chasing stuff like this is almost as bad as chasing an elec short.

check to make sure that one of the rubber/plastic stoppers on the adjuster arm bracket haven't fallen off. thre is a lobe in the adjuster arm's wheel which keeps rotating until it hits the stoppers, if the rubber pieces have fallen off you may be hearing metal to metal contact.

When you check, the stoppers on mine (2001) are white and are very obvious. There are two for each light. Upper and lower limits.

I compared both sides,look the same to me.But then,I'm not sure what to look for.

I've never liked pop-up's on any car I've owned.

i just swapped out my depo headlights and put stock headlights back into my car.. im having the same prob with the passenger light.. if i turn the manual adjuster on the motor the headlight dont move untill i turn it about 8 turns then it just drops about 1"... it dont do anything then all of a sudden it jsut drops that 1" or so.... not sure i that has anythign to do with it.. also whith the headlight doors off i can pull up un the headlight and theres play unlike the other side
