My passenger window has stopped working. When I push the botton, I hear a clicking sound in the door. I thought my DCM had gone bad, so I replaced it. No luck. The new module does the same. Locks work just fine. It did this a couple of times, but always worked after you slammed the door a time or two. Now nothing. I thought it might be the window motor, but when it works, it works for a few times just fine. No sign of being week.
Do you think its the window motor?
You might start by checking the wires near the door hinge. Other posts mention possibility of wires being frayed and shorting -- often "cleared" a time or two after slamming the door. Good luck, and keep us posted on the cure you find.
Open the drivers door, pull back the accordion tube, fish the wire bundle from the door pillar. Unplug the plug and clean the contacts on both male and female. Then give the window a try. The LDCM ( left door control mo dual) is part of the loop. Check the codes and see if you have any LDCM or RDCM loss of communication.
I tried checking and cleaning the connections in the door. All is good. I dont want to take this to a dealer, how do I check to see if it has lost communication? how do I get it to communicate?
Try a few mild taps on the back side of the window motor with a hammer (not joking).
You can also put a good volt meter across the wires of the motor to verify it is getting good voltage from the DCM when depressing the switch. If not, make sure the DCM is getting good hot and ground on the inputs.
