So is 336 good for a stock 01' dyno? How much will an intake add with no tune? This 01' has the 405hp badge, are they're an late model 01's with the 02' ls6 upgrades? What should this guy hit with headers?

As far as I know, (could be wrong, but I doubt it) all 01 Z's came with a 385. only 02 and up should carry the 405 badge. as for the Dyno, can't help., but I'm sure someone will
All 01's camde with 385 and the plain Z06 badge. I have, however, seen people put the 02+ badges on their 01.
My 02 with LT and full exhaust and a tune put down 385. So I would think you should be able to see close to 360 with headers and a tune. Just a guess though.
It is in the ball park, the main change in 02+ was the cam specs, and it is worth about 15-20rwhp. Most 02-04's dyno from the high 340's to the low 360's (factory freaks).
My 01 dyno'd 330 I think with a bad miss due to wire problems around 5k. Sits now at 372rwhp with ARH Lt's w/ cats and a Halltech Stinger Intake and a safe tune.
My buddies 01 makes 390rwhp with an 02 spec cam, kooks headers without cats, and a K&N intake.
My 01 made 440hp with LG G5x3 cam, full exhaust, vararam and a Fast 90/90. The intake won't make a huge difference on the dyno, you will see more of its gains on the highway.
your not going to get a accurate number for the vararam gain on a dyno. the ram air effect becomes more and more noticeable the higher the speeds. my 01 with vararam long tubes and full exhaust made just over 370 rwhp with a conservative tune.

Actaully lets keep assumptions of RWHP and net hp to a reliable quotable source. According to GMPT engineer John Juriga; the 2004+ M/Y LS6 cam (.025 lift for exh & int and 3 degree duration advantage, slightly higher spring rate at open loads over the '01M/Y LS6), valve train assembly is worth 8-10 net hp along with a little weight lose in the valve train.
The exhaust mods form to '02-'04 M/Y ; dropping the two front 'pup' Cats & replacement of the old single brick CAT with the new two brick Cats was good for a net 5 hp gain alone plus a loss of 5 1/2 pounds in weight. Also a two inch of mercury reduction in exhaust back pressure ( this reduction in back pressure shows up after 3800-4000 rpm).
The redesign from the '01 LS6 to 2002-2004 LS6 ( enlargening of the fresh air intake top cover ,removal of the MAF's air flow straightening screen and slight recalibration to the PCM added another 5 net hp. There is your 20 net hp difference between the '01 LS6 and the '02-'04 LS6, again according to GM engineers.
rwhp dyno numbers will differ because of tune up, elavation, fuel, ect , ect.
Diesel, thanks for the breakdown. I did say the "main" change between the 01 and the 02-04 was the cam, not the "only" change, probably should have been more clear
Numbers still apply, and the bolt on results are well documented here, along with the typical baselines between the 01's and the rest.
I am sure there are some 01 freaks that put out low 340's from the factory, just like the 02+ that put out low 360's.
