Actually - we sell both and both are excellent air filters. I have Blackwings on both of my C5's. If you are going to get a dyno tune, both are very easy to work with too. So I guess it comes down to price and appearance.
We sell the Blackwing for the C5 for $299 and the Halltech for $379. Let me know if you're interested in either one.
I was wondering about this as well. I'm thinking of making this upgrade in the next year or so, and I was wondering if anyone has any dyno pics or info to support a which is "better" claim. (Pics would be nice because all of the info I've read makes about an equal case for both of them! )
I believe the Venom relocates the MAF so that it is directly in front of the throttle body. For this reason alone, I would take the Venom over the Blackwing. Both include excellent filters and besides the relocated MAF feature, the Venom includes a smooth TB coupler.
What are the effects of having the MAF relocated? Is it just to straighten the air more before it reaches the throttle body?
