They just pop out. Passenger side you have to remove the oil fill cap.

There's a little more to it than that. First, disconnect the neg batt. cable. Then unscrew the cap for the schrader valve on the front of the driver's side rail, and with a rag covering the hole, press on the valve to release fuel pressure. Unhook the fuel line with a removal tool, (I believe it's the 5/16" size) and use a rag to collect any seepage. You'll have to either pull all your injectors out with the rails (carefully) or pull the retainer clips that hold them to the rails. If you choose to leave the injectors on, you have to unplug the injectors (all 8). When you do either one, carefully check the o-rings that're on both ends of the injectors for any damage, even slight. These are prone to leakage. It's alot easier than it sounds, you just have to be careful. Dave.

I just realized you may be asking about removing just the fuel rail COVERS? If so, disregard the above. They just pop off.

When you do steps 1 and 2 are there any tabs that break or is it just that simple?

Nope they just pop off.
You'll see after you take one off what they look like, it's no biggie.
