I was also in Carlisle this past weekend, my 1st trip to the extravaganza. I must say it was quite educational and entertaining. I really wasn't looking for anything in particular. but was thinking about an air intake system. I stopped to see the people who sell the green filters (I can't remember the brand name) and the lady behind the counter made it sound like if you just put one of their filters in that was 90% of the work. I presently have a K & N air filter in and I have no problem with it, but is that alone really helping to increase my hp? Also, ever since I've had this car I have a hard time keeping the airbox buckles down. If I get them both down all you have to do is tap the box and one or both will come unbuckled, I've taken the filter out and cleaned stuff up but I still can't get it to hold. Anyone else had this problem? That's sort of why I'd like to put a whole new intake on.
Call me a cheap a$$ all I bought at the show was 2 drying towels at the Meguiar booth after watching a detailing seminar. Got a lot of education though. WOW, what a show.

Ti for $150 is a great deal!!

I found Comp Valve springs with Ti retainers for $75. New in the box...

Lots of deals to be found there. But you really got to look, and look again.

Old75,

Found the "Patches" post you referred to about the cleaning of the Ti Exhaust. Thank you, very helpful!

1. How/with what do I polish them? Did you also clean the mufflers?
2. Is the bypass significantly more loud and I wonder if it affects Maryland State emissions?
3. Lemme know who you find to do the bypass weld. Perhaps we could get both sets done at once and get a price break.

I am in MD, but travel to NVA at least once per week. Thank you in advance,

Rickman
I used some mothers billet/alum polish on the tips and some elbow grease. I cleaned the mufflers but they could use it again.

Hard to say about the bypass, it definitely sounds louder at idle and cruising but not that much louder but at WOT it screams. I don't see how affects emissions but it might affect inspection but i doubt it because it won't make the car that much louder.

Not sure who or when i will get to weld the bypass probably be looking sometime over the winter.
