BG 44K® Power Enhancer® safely, rapidly and thoroughly removes engine deposits in combustion chambers, intake manifolds, ports and on valves. It restores flow in fuel injectors and cleans the entire fuel system. BG 44K® Power Enhancer® improves fuel economy and reduces exhaust emissions. It restores that “like new” driveability to an engine’s performance and keeps it running better, longer and more efficiently. Add one can or bottle to fuel tank at fill up. Catalytic converter and oxygen sensor safe. NOTE: After cleanup with BG 44K® Power Enhancer,® regular use of BG Supercharge®II, Part No. 202, in gasoline engines or BG Diesel Fuel Conditioner with DPL, Part No. 2276, in diesel engines will prevent deposits from forming in the fuel system and upper engine for maximum driveability and fuel economy.

I agree, the seminar by Corvette Mechanic was an hour well-spent. He recommended Techron Plus as a fuel injector cleaner and remedy for sulfur contamination of the fuel gauge probes, said BG 44 would clean carbon from the combustion chambers wheras Techron would not.
I was just at the Chevron website. They say Techron will clean combustion chambers and reduce deposit-related knocking and pinging. Techron goes in the gas tank, so does BG 44.
BG products also sells BG ISC Induction System Cleaner, which is injected into the air intake with a special apparatus, to "quickly and safely clean fuel injectors and remove hard, baked-on carbon deposits from intake ports, intake valves and combustion chamber." Dealers want about $150 for the service.
Corvette Mechanic also talked about top tier fuels and the fact that not all brands of gas have the level of detergency recommended by auto manufacturers to minimize buildup of deposits on the injectors, valves and combustion chambers. Google "top tier gas" to find out more.
As luck would have it, I started experiencing detonation knock on light acceleration and hot engine operations (200+ degrees) this weekend, first noticed it Friday after being stuck in traffic with a lot of hot engine idling (220-230 deg) due to the I-81 closure (I'm running 93 octane, but we don't have any top tier gas brands available back home).
Things got better after I filled with Turkey Hill premium (a top tier brand from a Carlisle-area convenience store, who'da thunk it!) and a 200 mile run back home including a nice carbon-clearing WOT launch onto I-81 along the way. Will add a bottle of Techron this weekend and see if things improve further.
