Default OEM wheel weights?

this spring my Vette will be due for new tires. I'm leaning towards a set of the OEM Goodyear runflats and am concerned about the wheel weights used to balance them. I'd like the install to look 100% factory like the ones that are on there now.

Can the OEM weights be re-used? Each wheel has an identical weight on it, about an inch in size. I'd really like to avoid changing that. I'd also like to make sure there are no marks left behind where the weights used to be.

What have you guys done?

you will more than likely have marks from where the weights were. The best thing to do is have the new tires balanced with sticky weights on the inside then buff out the fine scratches if any. Plus this will look alot cleaner.

Dump the clip on outside wheel weights.

You can always save them for later use when your car is NCRS eligible.

The best way to balance is with weight on both wheel lips. My Goodyear dealer has specific shaped and coated weights just for Corvette wheels. Some people like the stick on weights but depending on the quality of the tape adhesive they can come off.
Good luck

I'd never allow weights on the outside of the rim.

Are the weights at the Goodyear place a match to the factory ones? Do you have any pictures?

Thanks for the advice so far, guys.

Hi There:
The new tires will change the balance points requiring new weights.Wheel weights mounted on the outer lip need to be coated with polyester to prevent corrosion to the wheel. The good year & gm shops have those special coated weights.Remind them just before they do the change.
As NEVERL8c5 said the using the outer lip is the most accurate way to balance.
