I have been without my C5 for 8 full days now and it has been truly hard. I have only had the car since February but since then had only been away from the car on the weekends and come Monday mornings/Sunday nights, I could get back in the car and drive.
I have been reading CorvetteForum even more since I can't drive and while it has helped, it sure is not the same without being able to actually drive.
I should be back in the saddle on Thursday and hopefully sooner if the paint/clearcoat can finish drying.
I did stop by the shop and peek through the window yesterday and saw that the back bumper/fascia is off and underneath was all straight and looks like new and that my pipes were lined up again. Come on Thursday!
I feel your pain,,I start getting antsy in less than 24hrs!!I'll give you a thought as I'm throwing my clubs in the trunk of my FRC on my way to my Thursday morning golf outing!!It will be here before you know it!!
I can't imagine the guys who will be putting them away for months this winter.
I'm up here in MA and we'll get snow, lots of snow and I know that every winter I have to put the boat away from about November till around April and I can't even use the thing M-F most of the season anyway.
Then the snowmobile gets put away from sometime in March/April till December at the earliest, but the car is going to be tough. It is so addicting and so nice to drive and to even just look at. 2 more days.
Keep it road ready,,and drive it anytime the roads are clear. I don't store mine in the winter,,of course we don't get nearly as much snow as you do.We get a fair amount of it,,but mostly just bouts of bitter cold,,and the C5 has a great heater!! She does sit tight when there are significant amounts of snow and or ice!! I can't let her sit very long at all! Enjoy your reunion!!
When I got the car this past Februrary, there were definitely some spider cracks in the clearcoat from a couple of times the previous owner(s) had backed into things. Now everything will be new back there once it has been painted over.

Glad to hear you are getting her back. I can certainly understand the withdrawal thing. Probably going to be a long night, however we'll get you through it.
I'll be watching the clock at work tomorrow, waiting for 2:30pm when I can go out, get in the HHR for the last time and go to the shop. Then to see it sitting outside and seeing how the back end looks, I'll bet it will be looking so much better now that there is a fresh respray on the whole back end.
Strange how connected I got to the car, never realized it till it has been away for 9 days now, I'm getting teary . . .
The oddball looks for having to drive in anything but a C5.
I have longed for each and every C5/C6, heck, I've even lusted for C4's.
No looks from the cute women since I'm not in the C5, otherwise known as the Panty Dissolver.
The incredible loss of acceleration has my right ankle tired of having to floor the pedal so much.
I have awoken at night in a cold sweat knowing that in the morning I can't get in the C5 and go.
Like a fiend, I'll be getting my fix back tomorrow and things will be right with BenC5!
CorvetteForum is to Corvette Addiction as Methadone is to Heroin, it helps but is just not the same, still, better than nothing, you guys are the best!
