AFAIK they are technically illegal as you need an amber reflector. Of course, having an amber bulb would make the argument null and void, but those are the rules.

Equipment laws vary from state to state - if the OP is concerned about compliance with the vehicle statutes in his state, I would suggest you check with your local authorities.
I have clear corners and have run them for a couple of years. I use tower switchbacks, so my turnsignals are amber, only the parking lights are white.
