I tune on the street with hptuners both my N/A Zo6 and my old twin turbo Firehawk. There's no way I would have knowingly said 12.1 is lean.
Must have missed that part. Funny though how the majority of the thread focused on one erant comment. Sad, just like the politics and the media.
Well it comes down to the doom and gloom statement as if it was broken to the point of a rebuild, when actually 12.1 is not a lean condition and the break had nothing to do with a lean condition.
The car was fixed with a 20.00 part and a rebuild was not needed, as you insinuated out the gate!
Careful here. Had a broken valve spring occur pulling into the paddock at Watkins Glen after a 25 minute session. The shop replaced all stock springs with Manley springs... I think.
1 week later broke a new spring just driving on the street 4th gear 50mph. Each time the symptoms were the same as yours. The first time code was misfire. Second time misfire and MAF code. The shop fixed the broken spring and told me to take it to the track. Did one day at Thunderbolt in NJ ... no problem. Next track day at Watkins Glen, blew the engine coming out of turn 10. Windowed the block. Everyone I talked to after said the engine should have been torn down to find the cause of 2 broken springs.
Good luck.
