NO and I understand. :D My thinking would be it can't be wet all day and maybe I can get it home between the drops. The other solution is to drive if very slowly so it doesn't kick up to much dirt.
It is special, I certainly understand. However, if you plan on driving it at all, eventually it will rain. Try to dodge the showers, if possible, but if not don't worry about it. It'll make for good stories later.
Drive it home in the rain. It's not an investment, it's a car. It will clean up. You accomplish nothing by not driving it in the rain other than sacrificing that much time with your new pride and joy. I'm on my 7th Vette and the few dollars gained at selling time are nothing compared to the pleasure of driving the car.
I knew that those would be your feelings. I arrived at the dealership at 4:15.I said that I would be taking it in the rain. There were some polaroid shots taken, and then I was allowed to drive out of the show room.So as not to waste the moment,I was sure to take in every feeling or emotion.
The couple with the Dale Ernhart jackets were stone-faced.The teen-aged girl's eyes went to half-mast.Then I was brought back to earth by the family that was there to buy a Chevrolet for necessary reasons. They chose Chevrolet to live......................but I chose it to play.
The first thing I noticed was that the exaust note was louder. No,it was the leather, then the exaust note. My instructions were to leave the stickers and whatever,on the car.My Z-06 was the center of attraction all the way home.I can't begin to explain...but you know, don't you.
I got home and filled two buckets with hot water, got two towels, and started the bonding process with my Quicksilver Z-06.
I love head-up. I love the power. I don't not need no spare.I have to go now.

I want to thank everyone for their support and understanding during my recent fever.Car fever in general,is a real illness.Without telling a doctor that you have a new car, describe the symptoms to him.He will be concerned. Then tell him that you have a new Corvette. He will be alarmed. Then tell him that you have a Z-06.You will find that you have to come back for treatment many times, and that it's ok to park in front.
I'm learning to post a picture, thanks to one of the members here.I want to take my place as one of the newest members, and I'll make sure that my fellow club members know too. Also,I know that I have to stop smiling at myself in the mirror. That wouldn't look good at a "forum event". :chevy
You know, I was **** about my '96 vert. Never (and I mean NEVER) drove it in the rain for the 3.5 years I owned it. For that matter, I only put about 7K miles on it in that time period. I paid a lot of money for it to sit in the garage. Now yes, there was some pride in the fact that the day I traded it on the Z06, the dealer immediately put it in the show room - no wash, no clean up required...the car was that perfect. Sure enough, driving the new Z06 home that night? Rain. Just enough to dampen the surface of the roads. If you know metro Atlanta, you know we've got lots of construction that brings out all kinds of red clay on the surface streets....needless to say, the car was well "broken in" by the time I got home. Did the wash the next day and never looked back. She's been in the rain about a half a dozen times since then and racked up almost 7K miles in a year, so drive it, enjoy it, clean it, drive it.
When I took delivery last Oct 1, it rained the minute I left the dealers lot. First parking was a strip mall. It felt good not to go ****. My worst moment that day under 10 mpg. Thats improved and so has my wet weather driving. The OEM tires are great for dry but suck in the wet.
Yes, my 99frc went right on the lot too. Yesterday I drove my bicycle to past dealership,so I stopped and looked at the car. I even looked inside where I'd sat many a time. The Vette was silent. Talk about the cold shoulder! Nothing! That's a female car for you.
My new car is a guy. No doubt about it. I 'm unsure of his name though. How about just "Mister"? Lets see how it sounds. I get ready for work, open the garage door and say,"hi Mister, how ya doing?". Park the car and say,"see ya later Mister." Yep it's "Mister." :nonod:
