If the engine is bogging, and you are getting a smell..however, its reving and the clutch is not slipping, I am thinking it might be something with a cat converter or O2 sensor, but then you would have thrown a code. Could even be bad plugs or something.
I won;t rule out clutch though either...

Sorry about the delay in getting back regarding my issue.
My wife wanted a new car (mini), and my home computer crapped out so why not get that as well... argh...
The shop could not get the car to replicate the issue for them so I drove it again and the problem has gotten worse. it is now happening in every gear. When I accelerate quickly the lag is evidently the clutch slipping. After telling the shop, they said that is is 100% a slipping clutch. The chatter is most likely coming from the fly wheel, which is now slipping, and the smell was because when this first happened I never let off the gas, resulting in the clutch smell... This sounds correct to me...??..???
I replaced the clutch 2 years ago, but did not replace the fly wheel. I will be replacing all in the near future - or I might sell the car(undecided).
If I replace the clutch, what do you recommend? I had put a ram in before, but obviously am not going to do that again after my recent experience. I am thinking a z06 kit with flywheel? Thoughts?
