Got it in the mail today, and tore into it about 30 min. ago... got it off and ready to change out the electronics, and find out its some special tamper proof hex head? WTF

she'll have to wait till tomorrow. I guess I need to get a T20-H?

No loss, those things don't do anything anyway.

^^o.k.

I got one 7 years ago. It didn't do anything on the dyno and it didn't do anything on the track. Spend your money on worthwhile mods.

^ I had one on my 04 gto and I got almost 15hp on my supercharged Ls1. It might not do much, but it will do something.

But that was a supercharged motor: dosent it stand to reason the the gains would be less on a non SC motor. Did you dyno it w/o the SC but with the TB?

Unless you're pushing high horsepower, a ported throttle body is pointless.

I know for a fact, that at the very least, the throttle response is improved. My first LS290 was ported by Tony Mamo, and it had beautiful throttle tip-in manners. My 2nd one, which I did a ham-fisted home porting, is not as smooth, but was easier for my tuner to get running right.

Or how do you know my car doesnt have high hp?? or That I have the plans for it? come on!

I'm not questioned 5hp just any thing beyond that. If it was only $100 then it's really no big deal. I am just curious what it will do on a non FI car.

I just got done putting on, and took it out for a drive. It definitely has better throttle response, and if I gained any low end torque or hp Im happy.

I got a Shaner S2 for my old Firehawk, I could tell a throttle response difference (even before the cam, and then Twin Turbo)

Then I bought one off the used parts section for my stock Zo6 and again I could fell better mid-range throttle response.

Worth the little cash, I like the work that went into filling/porting it. Nicely done.

I put the X pipe on ONLY to get rid of the "exhaust jungle" that I got with the stock H pipe. Not one bit for any power increase. Why does it matter that I'm not modded anyway?

I put an S2 throttle body on my 02 Camaro SS when I had it. I also had LT's, exhaust, and a tune. The car made decent power, but not what it should be making. My tuner told me the S2 was probably hurting me more than helping because I was not running high horsepower. Put the stock throttle body back on a made *more* power compared to the S2. Anyhow, if you like it, that's what matters.

Lingenfelter claims when they port a TB on a stock car they only see 1-2 hp increase (hard to notice). But when they add air intake and headers the ported TB contributes 7-8hp.

I noticed a slight difference (mainly more crisp throttle response) with the shaner tb as well.

I would be interested in this mod for my car. After all, how much time do we spend on the track and the dyno? A little more kick just casually driving would be nice.

I put a GTO throttle body on my 2000 Z28 and it seemed to help with response.

Thanks
