My front glass has begun to start fogging up on the outside when I run the ac. I am not really sure why it has started now. If anyone knows why it has started doing this or knows how to fix it please let me know because its annoying to see a fogged up spot in the middle of the windshield. I can turn on the windshield wipers and get rid of it for a few minutes, but I want to know how to fix it from coming back all together. Thanks for any help.
First off, don't use Rain-X anti-fog. You'll regret it.
Generally, the window fogging up is caused by the change of temperature between the outside and inside of the cab. If it's colder outside than it is inside, it will quickly fog up inside. If you have a passenger in your car, it will happen faster.
Use the front defogger switch to fix this for both inside and outside fog. If the fog is on the inside, it will dissipate fast. If it's outside, it will take a little time for the windshield to heat up or cool down enough to equalize the temperatures.
You can bump your a/c temp up enough to stay comfortable and keep the fog away.We have the same problem down here because of the high humidity conditions.
Alright well I didn't ever notice it during August before I left for school, but last night I took it out and it was doing it. The fog is on the outside, so that's why I was wondering. I guess it just happened to be the right conditions.
Check if you're getting air coming from your center vent. Sometimes the door that operates the vents will either get stuck or just not work.
The controller is vaccum operated. If it's not working, you'll get air coming out of the defrost vents, main vents and lower vents. You'll need to re-connect or replace the vaccum line.
