Default epoxy glue cure time ?plastic type?

Hi, I had a choice of 1hr ,4hr,8hr,or 24 hr cure times for epoxy glue from the local advance auto store . Set times were 1min,5 min etc, . I was looking for an epoxy to reglue the hard plastic cover on the headlight motor. the description on the items listed hard plastic as one of the materials that it would bond. it also said caution: not suitable for most polyproplene plastic. My 2 questions are. Is the longer cure time better / stronger/ or weaker? Is the hard plaSTIC A POLYPROPLENE or abs plastic? I am reinstalling the part after using the 4 hr cure epoxy glue. It will have had about 18 hours since glued when I try it today.I hope it holds. Thanks Dean

I don't think just epoxy will hold it. BFRANKER has metal brackets which will hold them, you can just buy the brackets seperate. That's what I would do.

Fortunately, my 1998 came with the "screw-type top" and I didn't need to use these.

I agree, I would use the little metal "T" bracket for support, With the force in the motor I wouldn't trust just the glue.
