12 Disk, CD Changer

I'm buying an 01 Vert that has only the single CD player. Do the cars that came equipped this way have the wiring already in place in the trunk to install a factory 12 disk changer?

No, You will need the harness that goes from the passenger side footwell to the rear and the changer and brackets, There DIY write up on here somewhere with pictures.
I did it and it took about an hour to do.

Most ppl nowadays forego the cd changer and just add an Ipod adaptor.

Or a head unit with a usb port! Disc changers are getting to be like the 8-track.

I haven't had a chance to read all the threads on installing an MP3 adapter yet but, it sounds like it may be the way to go.

I think this wise as you wont have the hassle of changing discs and these units can be problematic.You can also store far more tunes with an Ipod!

So, what and where do you find an i-pod adapter? And, where can you find the cd holders for the 12 disk changer? I just bought a C5 convertible with 8,000 miles and I want to enjoy it for a few thousand miles before I buy a C6. It has 11 holders in the cartridge, I need one more!

Take about 1 hour to install and it has Cd quality sound. For install just search Ipod. Bill
