Default tires

Can anyone recommend an all weather tire that rides smoother that the factory goodyears for an 01 c-5??

I replaced the Goodyear Runflats three years ago with a set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS ZP's. Quiet, comfortable ride, good traction in wet conditions.

I have Kumho Ecsta MX on my 01 vert and I LOVE 'em.

Hope that helps,

Ummm...almost anything! Factory Goodyears were really noisy, lousy ride IMO

I had sport pilots, was happy with them. Right now I'm running BF Goodrich T/A KDs and think they're great for the price, but they are not an all-season tire.

Do you still want run-flats?
If yes, I have Michelin PS AS ZP Plus that I like - quiet handle well in wet weather, seem to be giving decent tire life.

None run flat you have a largers choice. I had Kuhmo Ecsta MX on when purchased and they were a great tire as well.

By "all weather" I assume you mean "all season". You did not fill out your profile, but I assume you live where it gets cold, fill out some details so we can help you better.

The Michelin Pilot Sport AS ZP Plus is the ONLY all season runflat tire there is, it rides better than the Goodyear OEM runflats.

Now, if you want a non-runflat all season tire, you have several choices, one of the best is Goodyear's F1 A/S tire.

Remember, summer tires loose at least 30% of their traction in temperatures 40 F.

Here is a search of all "all season" tires at Tire Rack, good luck shopping.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP here. Quiet, great in the wet, long tread life.
Just got a set from Tire Rack for under $1000.00

I'm going with Michelin PS2's but whatever brand you decide on be sure to check the tread-wear grade as it may make a difference on your decision.

Saw an example of the Goodyear F1 A/S tire at the NCM event this last weekend. Good looking tread pattern on that tire.

Just a warning, these tires are HORRIBLE in snow! I've got a pair on the back and I've gotten into some scary situations with them, the stock runflats were better in light snow than these Kumhos! I've got the Goodyear Eagle F1 all seasons up front and they are terrific tires! They run very smooth and are excellent in the rain and snow too. I can't wait to replace the Kumhos out back with a matching set of the Goodyears!

Tire Rack has the BFG grand sport A/S on special. I paid 501.00 for a set shipped. All the tests, reviews, were very favorable for this tire.
Installing them tomorrow, and will report how they are.

My 2002 Vert still has the original Goodyear EMT tires....and my experience is pretty much like everyone elses... hard ride, poor traction, very loud.

Today I road in a friend's '99 coupe. He had just switched to C6-sized wheels with the new Goodyear EMT tires. The difference is night and day. The tire noise was no more than my wife's Acura... the ride seemed better, (maybe my imagination due to the quietness) and he swears the cornering traction is very good... much better than the originals. And the curb appeal is incomparible. Are these tires available in C5 sizes?

Tires could be a headache to select, but I just put a set of Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals on mine, and so far, I am pleased with them.
