What ever the reason, the guy in the Neon obviously has a few anger issues to work out. Hey, we all make mistakes from time to time -no use carrying a grudge on for two miles and in the meantime risking the lives of other drivers like he did.
What irony these threads are.
Receiving childish antics on the highway and feeling resolved by acting just as childish posting this up on the interwebs for peer support and counsel.

It's not the car that makes someone an azzhat. There are some cool cars out there, both domestic and imports - all makes. There are azzhats driving every brand.
I find, almost anyone seems to drive a little more "spirited" when a nice car pulls up next to them. Especially a sports car. Whether that be "ricers", trucks, vans.. whatever. The best bet is to ignore them and move along. Unless they are attempting physical damage, they really are a a good laugh.

I know what you mean Alex.
What the thread(s) do, all depending on how one looks at them, or doesn't since no one forces anyone to read any thread, is give us some insight into what others think as there are just as many "offbeat" C5 owners as there are "rice burner" owners. C5 owners do have some measure of "ground superiority" but anyone now with $10-20k can have one, like me.
The variety of opinions is nice, both the good and the bad.
I'll admit that sometimes I think the front ends on the Mitsubishi EVO's are pretty nice looking and wonder how those things go.

I've had people in Camaros, Hondas, Porsches and even other Corvettes be obnoxious on the road, and how many threads do you see about that on here? Yet people only post about the Civic kids. Like rice-burner kids are the only asses on the road. Ignorance is bliss, keep being happy.

It IS a world wide problem. Here in Saudi Arabia the weapon of choice is either a Toyota Corrola or Hyundai Accent which the locals race to the death.
The scarey part is they get them up to 200 KPH (125 MPH) on bog standard wheels and tyres.
You should see the carnage when they invariably flip over.

I can only imagine the threads that go on on other auto forums.
"Man, those lousy C5's, why is it that they are always faster than me?"
"Those C5's stink, they look too good and even look ungodly fast when parked, drat!"

Just last night on my way home, same thing happened to me. Some young kid in a ricer car pulls up next to me trying to get it going. We start up a steep freeway hill. Now I wasn't racing or anything similar, just got tired of him being a bit too close and agressive for me. I dropped to 4th and gave it some gas. I was easily able to move up and away, then over a couple of lanes. I could hear him trying to accellerate but wasn't moving...lol. This kind of thing happens all the time too me at night on the freeways. I normally just ignore them but as mentioned by others here, some of these guys are becoming agressive out there.
Hey Alex... No one asked you to click or continue to read. I have always thought that thus forum was a great place to come and find great advice, buy some great parts, make a friend or two, or just vent about random things. Apparently, you felt the need to make a rant yourself. Kudos. I usually keep my opinons of others post to myself unless the OP asks for opinions, but that's just me being respectful. Finally, I guess this post was poor in taste and slightly hypocritical, but as I stated previously, no one is perfect.
Oh. I should say, for the sake of fairness, that I truely have respect for people in all auto "groups". Everyone has preferences, and budget constraints. I think it's great that people make the best of what they have. A vette does not make us better than anyone, but it does make us happy. That being said, not everyone that drives a Honda, neon, etc is a ricer. However, those that have no respect and a definate complex belong to the derogatory ricer category. There are ignorant drivers in all catagories and if it had been a BMW, suv, pickup, etc I would place them in their appropriate "catagory". Oh yes, there are those stupid Corvette guys that don't deserve the car they drive as well. As I said, I place all ignorants in their approprate place.
Hope everyone has a great day! Be safe out there!

I used to be one of these "ricers" with a Honda CRX, then 2 Miatas, a Lexus IS250 and now finally my Corvette. Anyone who loves their car at a young age is going to want to show it off. You just have to try a little harder when it's a 4 cylinder. Sure I probably looked ridiculous to a more "mature" person, but it made me feel good to rev the engine, so I did. Big HP car like the Corvette speak for themselves. It's too easy to be cool in a Corvette

How's it going man?-Alex
Here in Flagstaff we have more than a fair share of south of the border denizens and most of them drive rice beaters with fart cans. Most of these cars look like candidates for the scrap pile and the fart cans are probably worth more than the rest of the car. You can seldom leave a light without hearing the sound of 50 HP screaming its heart out.
Just hanging in there livin the dream. been real busy with the new kiddo and job, havent had much time to get on here and pitch ya any crap.. i was overdue
Myself and a bunch of others grew up with muscle cars and did our fair share of stupid things on the street.Look at it this way, those ricers ARE todays kids muscle cars, as this is what is being produced that they can afford to buy and insure.Let em have a bit of fun if they arent harming anyone!
