Don't sweat these guys. They all make your car payments for you so they feel they can dictate what you want to do with your car, or at least they act like they do. Kinda the reason I never mention what louvers I run cause the haters would come out to hate. Try mentioning a wing and watch em all but kill you.

This is by far one of the best Corvette forums going, but I have never understood why so many feel that if they disapprove of a mod they need to really put the people down for asking about it.
I paid for my C5, I pay for the insurance and everything else. Therefore what I do to my car is my business. I agree that if someone asks how other people like what they just did to their car, then they are opening it up for different opinions, but in this post it was not what do we thing of them, but was wanting to see how red louvers would look.
I have a set of black louvers. I took them off when I got the car and they are in perfect shape. They are yours if you want them. You just have to pay for shipping. send me a message.
Well put. Some people are just instigators and trying to stir things up instead of just trying to help a forum member. I lurked around this forum for a while and read a lot of very good helpful and informative posts. I've even seen a form of brotherhood here but still there are some that are just immature.

We're trying to keep C5's from becoming the next cluttered C4. Louvers and tow hitches are for people that have tires on their homes.
C'mon guys, wether you agree or not, untill you're paying for his ride, all you can do is eithr help or get out of the way. Yeahthey were on my '98 coupe when i got it. I really didn't like them, but, the wife did. I won. Not to say they aren't what you like, I just didn't. See, this is what you asked for...what do they look like... Actually, I did have tires on my house at one time. It really wasn't the house that was a stunner, it was the 140 acres of trees and pasture that made it special. Thanks for reminding me.

This is a open forum. You have to expect both positive and negative feedback if you post on a public forum. If you don't want this type of feedback, ask only your family or close friends who won't hurt your feelings.
Thus far I have seen only one truly negative post. The other "don't do it" comments are just opinions which the OP solicited with his "thinking of adding louvres" statement.
Let's not be so politically correct and have fun here. If I started a thread asking for advise whether I should install pink seats in my car, I would certainly hope to get better responses than "it's your car/payments, do whatever you want". One of the main purposes of this forum is to hopefully learn from other people's efforts, triumphs or mistakes.
As to the OP, I had originally installed black louvres on my MSG and removed them because I thought they were a PIA to clean and over the years I have grown to believe less is more when it comes to the great lines of the C5.
thanks for ALL the input. this is a great forum to get ideas and opinions. the photo from dancin1 was what i was looking for. you know, some mod color combinations you like or dislike from the start - others grow on you. i thought staying w/tourch red on the lites like the rest of the car, they would not stand out as much. the lines are ok - but i dont know about all that red going or coming at you. any more opinions out there?? let me know - thanks.
