..........and is it harmful to the engine and how long does a bottle last and should it be considered without other engine or gear mods........
Did mine on a saturday (150 shot). Had it dyno'd, this is very important.
I do 12.194 @118 on stock General tires.
If I could hook better, I'm sure I would be high 11's.
.
as long as you don't go crazy, nitrous is safe. Wet shots are better, they dump fuel in with the spray, but dry is ok for low hp shots. I've almost got a wet kit put together, just need a few more bits. I'm going for a 150 shot.

Best dollar per HP you can get. Stock you will get in low 12's if you can drive. Should cost you about 800 bucks for 100 HP. N20 costs me 7 bucks a lb. where I live.
10 lb bottle will last you about ,8 seconds per pound or about 56 seconds for a 10 lb bottle. ( you will probably use 7 lbs. than need to refill unless you have NANO.
You motor can handle it. Get a window switch set for 3k and 6k for safety. Suggest a remote bottle opener, heater, pressure gage, purge , panal for your controls. Read the nitrous section here and read up on subject.
I have my bottle hidden in the rear well and control panal hidden behind clam shell door in back of shifter.
It makes your car fast and is fun to use when you need it.
I'm a recreational user but you can get much more sophisicated on the type of system and gages and controls. Depends on how deep you want to get. If you focus on items to make it run safe you will be OK.
My best advice is to have work done by a pro and have it tuned properly.
