Default hid light kit

Does anyone know if the fog light housing can handle the heat output from hid lighting?

Yes we're the leader in HID kits sold on CF and I run them in my personal vehicle.

Fogs handle HID's with no problem. I've had them for around 2 years with no issues.

I wanted them for my suburban. I installed the 55 watt silver stars in the fog light housing and it melted the inside of it. The metal shield is sitting at the bottom of the housing. So I was wondering if my vert can handle it before I purchase. Thanks.

HIDS we sell are only 35 watts and will not get near that hot to melt anything.

i have a question about running HIDs in my fogs

my fogs flash when i unlock/lock my car, will that decrease the life of the bulb/ballast?
i've also heard that i should rewire the relay to leave the fogs on when i use the high beams

Yes they will however I've been flashing mine over a yr now with no problems. We always have spare parts available if you want to order extras. I've never heard of that last suggestion. I guess it all depends on how you want them to function.it's not required at all.

I do. They are the same price. I might have to order those. They aren't as popular. They're 3000k BTW.

I should add since writing this post we will now be offering 55 watt kits. I think they'll be here tomorrow. They're 35-40% brighter. They still won't get near as hot to melt anything.
