Hi all,
My Z06 had Hawk HPS brake pads installed when I got the car earlier this year. Performance is terrific, however, as we all know, they tend to squeak at times. Lately, mine have been squeaking/squealing (sometimes loudly) when I'm decelerating between 40mph and 20mph. Anyone else out there with Hawk HPS pads have this same experience? Is this normal or is it time to get them checked out?
Thanks!
I thought the HP+ were the ones that squeal a lot. I'm pretty sure I put HPS on mine and I have no squealling. They've been on for almost a year now. Maybe I have the HPS and HP+ mixed up. I have a spare set of unopened HPS front pads if you end up needing to replace them. I think they might have been discontinued and may be hard to find.
Mine squeal from 30 to 0 and i was wondering the same, the pads were done by a repurable shop (Corvette Connection in Li N.Y.) so i know it was done properly.
My mechanic put HPS pads and Power Slot rotors on my 02 coupe a few weeks ago, and they were bedded-in per Hawk instructions. No squeaks so far (includind one long track day and a couple of autocross events).
