Thank goodness my original run flats are down to the wear bar. I hate those noisy tires!
A couple of years ago the Goodyear G3 D3 non run flat was the 'In' tire among this group. What is a good tire now that is quiet and still handles great. I dont have to worry about cold weather driving and I seldom drive in the rain.
As far as I'm concerned the Goodyear GS-D3 is still the best bang for the buck. I replaced the original runflats with a set in May and I could not believe the difference in noise level and ride. They look great on the car and I couldn't be happier. They were about $1000 installed at Discount Tire. I say go for it.
My fairly noisy Kumho EcstaMX Runflats are pretty close to the end,and I'm going with General Exclaim UHP's(non-runflats) when the time comes.
They've gotten some pretty good reviews on this forum, and they don't cost an arm and a leg...
I just put on a set of BFG G-force Super Sport A/S. TireRack had them on special for 501.00 shipped.
Great tire! Quiet, comfy, and sticks like glue.
Thursday had them in the wet, great traction. Today went on a cruise with the MESV gang. We hit some pretty hard turns, on roads I'm not familiar with. I had no trouble keeping up with the Z06s. I just set it on the same line they took, and it stayed planted. The runflats would have never been able to keep me planted like that.
I'm very impressed. Plus it's an A/S tire. So if you do decide to take a cold weather run, you'll be all set.
I just put the General Exclaim UHP's on this past June. It is my DD, and I have had absolutely no complaints! I figure they should last as long as any other, and at a portion of the cost.

The Goodyear GS-D3 is still a great tire. Others that you can consider at the Firestone Wide Oval and Michelin PS2. If you want to stick with a runflat, try the Firestone Firehawk.

I have those General UHP tires on mine now and i don't really like them. IMHO, they're fine, i suppose, if you are looking for a quiet ride. However, if you expect any performance out of them, you will probably be disappointed. They don't hook very well, cornering grip is merely ok and the sidewall feels squishy. Although they are billed as an ultra high performance summer tire, they feel like an all-season to me. I bought my C5 with these on the car almost brand new, so it's hard to justify buying new tires, but these will not be going on my C5 again. If you just want a tire, and don't care about performance, the price is hard to beat.
Bridgestone Pole Position RE050 is a high performance summer time. I had a set installed a couple of thousnad miles ago and I am perfectly satisfied with the ride quality, noise level and most importantly the handling...! I've been partial to Bridgestone products having used them on other vehicles I own so I felt confident that the RE050's would perform and they did. Just my opinion.
