BTW..C4 seats are nothing to rave aboute either.. if I were to put seats in my C5, I think the C6 are better. I've driven plenty a C4...not much difference to me in the seat quality.
Yeah, thanks your for your opinion . The C4 seats are are superior (IMHO). I owned a '93 and the seats looked brand new when I sold it last year. When I say better I also mean that they performed better too.

As McEnroe would say -- "You cannot be serious."
I assume you never sat in the stock cloth C4 seats and certainly never drove at speed in them. They are proof that GM could have supplied a cheap, proper sport seat. I have no idea how they compare with Carvaggios but having had GTI's with inexpensive Recaro-supplied seats which blew away the C5 sport seats, the C4 cloth seats were better. And, MUCH better than any C6 seat I've ever been in. Oh, and it's not like buying a Porsche gets you the best seats in the world either. I owned a C4-vintage Porsche 944 for 4 years. The C4 seats were better in every way...score one for that group of GM designers.
Now as to seat quality, that's a different animal. I've seen enough prematurely worn-out C4 leather seats to agree that the quality of those was not that great either.
So it's not like the C5 interior designers had to spend big bucks and shortchange some performance goodies. They just had to imagine that some of their buyers might want sports car seating rather then barcaloungers.

Reason: Another thought
Let me know what you find out, because my experience with this seat being high is something I have read from other folks in the past before.
Thanks !
Toque
It came today. I do sit a little higher in the seat. With my helmet on I have about a 1/2'' between the top of the helmet and the headliner. Oh and I'm 5'10''.
It's a nice seat but a very tight squeeze in the car. I opted for the FX1 which is a tad wider than the FX1Pro so that I think is why I'm having problems with the fit. (see my thread in the road racing section)
