I recently purchased a high mileage 1998 Corvette LS1 Auto (194K miles) so I am facing reality that one day sooner or later I will need to replace the engine (selfish needs for more HP is in there too). When this time comes I will more than likely drop in an LS6.
In the meantime, I would like to go ahead and put LT headers on the LS1 if they will also work when I go with an LS6. Does anyone know if I will run into any troubles getting them to fit an LS6 if they fit an LS1? I searched the forums and didn't see anything that would indicate I would run into issues but wanted to throw that out there before I commit.
Headers them selves will fit just fine, bolt holes are the same either way.
The only difference would be the connection on the air tube if any, and I do not have the answer to that question.
If you like you can take a pic of the air tubes on your car and post them and I'll tell you if they are the same as mine.
I think I have read someplace that the designed lifetime of an LSx engine was in excess of 300,000 miles.. you may be surprised.. but I bet your going to see a lot more out of that engine before it gives up the ghost..
I think there is a member on the forum with over 400k miles on his!
