Trapping @ 108 I would say 12.7-12.9 is probable.

Doesn't make any difference if you're not putting it to the ground. But again, I trapped 107 at the Grove and ran a 12.9 with a decent (2.0) 60' time.

Yikes, that is like the slowest time for a C5 I have seen! Even stock C5's with 2.73 gears are running high thirteens!

Default Drag Radials

Drag Radials make a really big difference. Regular street compounds simply will not hook up well on the track. When Oklahoma owned my car, he used the Nittos.

Ouch, I just read the wikipedia entry for Chevrolet Corvette and it said a stock C5Z has a record time of 11.7 and Chevy advertised 12.4.

I would definitely do worse than you did though, so you still have me beat at least!

Good for you on getting out there and having fun with your car!

Practice will help a lot, as will drag radials.

And read/search the performance section of this forum and you will find an enormous amount of help.

Get back out there and good luck.

Try not to just mash the throttle. If you're spinning all through 1st and 2nd, then you need ease up and let it hook. Seems like you were launching at way too high an RPM for the tires. Easy on the launch, let it hook then roll the throttle on. If you're spinning second, lift of the throttle, then shift a little lower, and roll back into the throttle.

335s are already a pretty wide tire. IMHO, i think more work on technique is needed before you throw more tire at it.

You need sticky tires, not wider tires...

Hoosiers or M/T - 275/40/17 - They work great
