took about an hour ride down the parkway in jersey, but with long tubes and bullets. car ran flawless but finally relized i need a partition, checked out the norms and looks like west coast corvettes has the best, but is pricey. any suggestions? i'm not really concerned so much with money just want the best for the money!
I prefer the 4 inch foam covered in black carpet. I have used both that one and the thinner one that is held in place with velcro. The foam piece holds in place better IMO being that its held in place by pressure fit the other would continuously fall when bumped by something and it didnt do well with the noise sense it didn't completely seal the cabin from the trunk..
I am one of the lucky one's that have an Andy's partition. Solid, leather wrapped front face with center emblem placement and carpet on the back to match the trunk. I get ton's of questions and compliments on my divider. If you can find one used, buy it. I am not sure if Andy is still selling them or not but last I heard he was not.
Get the foam one. Mine came with the car and I ignored it for a short while. After one ride on the freeway it went right back in and it hasn't moved since. Its the only thing that keeps my brain from turning to goo.
Ask any acoustics engineer, it takes mass to stop low frequency noise. For the high frequency stuff the foam ones will do as good as the heavier ones, but the heavier particle board partitions are a lot better at reducing low frequency noise, it is as simple as that.
I'm sure the foam ones work, but a heavier one is going to be that much better. FWIW...
the hard one from west coast is 1" thick all others, say there only 1/2" i would think heavy board style would be better for blocking out exhaust noise! but also helps the sh#@ bose stereo too!
I also have the tray...lol... It weighs Im guessing around 12lbs give or take fits snug matches the interior helps keep things organized...they have a new version that has lids on the trays now
