rear hatch weatherstrip missing??

Default rear hatch weatherstrip missing??
is there supposed to be a weather strip piece around the rear hatch...I don't have a strip on the hatch or the body of the car where the hatch closes...Its looks like there is an out line of were weatherstrip used to be on the hatch itself... if anyone could let me know if a weatherstrip piece should be present and any pics if possible...

Should have one around the opening on the body of the car.
There isn't one on the hatch itself.

There is a seal that goes all the way around the rear hatch opening. Here's a shot of mine when I was insulating the interior.
