i blew the engine in my vette last week by driving through a flooded street ... insurance is going to cover it and i am curious as to how much others have paid or insurance has paid to have their engine replaced (just stock).
What did you tell your insurance company abouit the flooded street? Did they decide to get the engine, how much out of your pocket are you going to pay?,
From: Ok! So you don't believe in conspiracies, but will you acknowledge the possibility of there being coordinated activities in secret places? Texas
Your insurance is going to replace your engine with one of "like kind and quality" (LKQ). Basically means an engine out of a vette no older than yours with no more miles than yours. They will find the engine in a salvage yard and pay for the cheapest one that they can find that meets the criteria of LKQ. Find out if your adjuster will cut you a check for the amount he finds the replacement engine for. If so, then you can add a few dollars to it and purchase the engine you want. When last I checked, you could purchase a new 405hp LS6 longblock for about $3600 plus shipping.
