Default Vendor rant

I am not going to mention names as I don't see this as a place to bash someone but....

I inquired with someone about the dimensions of a license plate frame to assure it would cover the screw heads on the backing plate as we all know the factory frame is wider and longer than a standard frame.

They assured me it would.

So $25 and two weeks later waiting for it, it arrives and alas it DOES NOT cover the screw heads and is just the standard frame size.

Granted, not going to end the world but thats why I emailed and asked and expected to be told correct information...not just a "Yes" to make a sale.

Sorry, I know this may not be the place for a rant...just kind of frustrated...

I agree with some of the stuff being crap being sold.

You will be told to contact the vendor and see if you can get resolution.

I did that with some totally crap hood and tail light seals and rusty screws and was told that since lots of people bought and use the same stuff, it was pretty much tough-luck. It is no wonder the vendor always runs 40% off sales and even 50% off sales, the stuff is not worth anywhere near what they want for it in the first place.

This is why some forum vendors don't survive, nor should they if they choose to operate that way..... I agree with you 100%.

Good luck!

Sorry for the bad experience. I don't have a clue who the vendor is. Hopefully you have a better experience when you shop with us!

Too bad that they wouldn't be upfront with you to start with.

Rant???
Why start this? Ok you were burned I am sorry, we All know
that these guys are out there. If you really feel that you were
not treated right why not tell us the vendors name? This is a
blind why of telling other's that SOMEONE stole from you.
If it's worth the rant I think it's worth the whole truth.

Uhm, why not? The first thing you should do is to disclose the name of the vendor. In case you missed it, this forum and the gen section especially are full of vendor plugs. It is only fair to offer your feedback to prevent others from getting screwed. This is the right place and you should not think twice about disclosing the vendor. If you are too shy, PM me the name of the business and I'll do the deed for ya.

Have you expressed your dissatisfaction to them and given them a chance to make it right? If so, how did they respond?? I'd go ahead and give up that vendor name too....

This may be tricky though considering vendors supposedly keep this forum free A thread complaining about large number of vendor plugs in gen already got locked after less than an hour. Vendor name disclosure may be a recipe to get this thread locked, me think
