Default Whats it worth?

I have a 99 frc with 92k miles. Im thinking of selling it and need some advice on asking price. Car is in good condition with only minor paint blemishes and on small hole in the drivers seat. The car has been in one accident prior to me owning it. It was hit in the rear but the car has a good title no rebuilt or salvaged. Appears the back bumper was replaced only. Im thinking about asking around 15k. Car has a few bolt ons. Give me some advice guys! Thanks

I don't think you're gonna get $15K. I suppose you can start at $15K then go down.

A lot of people aren't in the market for high mileage vettes. For some comparables:

I almost bought a 1998 coupe with 28k miles on it and a 6 speed for 18 out the door. Car was in meticulous condition.

Test drove another 1998 coupe with 54k miles with a 6 speed for 17,500 out the door at a dealership (about 800 of that in tax and title).

I would expect 15k is a good starting point, might sell for 500-1500 less... I don't know. I didn't even look at vettes with more than 60k when I was searching.

For the record I ended up with a 2002 for 22500 out the door with 53k miles, meticulously maintained. Went with the newer one for the fact that it was newer and hand brand new rubber on it and came with a 6 month 6k mile warranty through the dealer. Probably should have got the 98 but I think the 02 was the right move.

i just bought my 99 Coupe 6spd with 84k miles loaded with all the cool options, HUD included , for 10,000.. has its little quirks like a rattly driver window, swirly paint(meguiars swirlX took care of that really well followed by the gold class wax), and 1 bad tire pressure sensor.
the guy was asking 12,000 but i knew him so i got it cheaper.. idk but i think i got a steal

Go to autotrader.com and check other vettes in your area to see what they are selling for. Try getting an average, but keep in mind you have to look at year and mileage as well. If you see that the average is higher then yours for vettes that are comparable, then leave it at your asking price, but if you see that they are lower then yours then lower your price. You may also want to list it for 14,995 or something like that. Yes, we all know the trick but the mind see's the number 15 vs 14 they think they will save by looking at 14.

For the record you may be asking a tad much, but do what I said first before you play with your pricing. I bought mine last year...

2001 torch red coupe
Other then intake it's stock. Paint was decent, but did have regular little chips and a little tear on the driver seat.

Mileage: 87,000
A little higher in miles but after THOROUGH examination, carfax, questions upon questions I got it for 14,700

I brought it back to Canada where even with this mileage it will still have a decent resale value. This is not the case in the U.S. though. I now find vettes with lower miles and pay a few bucks extra, but I didn't want to wait any longer. Demographics will play a part in selling your car...good luck!!!

You can certainly start at $15K, but with the miles I would be surprised if it brought that much. Prices are still down a bit - but you never know what someone is willing to pay.

I'd be shocked if you got 15k, but if you have time I guess you could start there.

I am seeing them around that price on autotrader, but not sure if they're selling... some are as low as $12K...

Unfortunatley that is probably warmer. I have seen early C5 coupes with around 30k mileage going for $16k. You can always lower the price so I'd start at $15k but expect it to go for much lower.

i dont see any problem with starting at 15... i just sold a 1990 supercharged 454ss pickup for 10,500.. i was asking 12,500 to begin with and people thought i was nuts for a 20y/o truck. u have to leave urself room to negotiate and i feel i got good money for my truck, even going down 2 grand...
ask high and be flexible

EDIT: u cant be in a rush tho.. be patient and the right buyer will come along
