Factory in-dash CD player not working
It's been giving me problems off and on for a few years, but it appears it finally died.
Is there an aftermarket player for an ipod to replace where the CD player is? Or a combination CD/mp3 player, that looks factory?

The bad is the bose door speakers will not work w/out an adapter. But you can buy them online (not at crutchfield) Also if you don't like the look of a smaller stereo in the dash you can buy a DD unit which is very cool. More $$ and you will need to replace your dash for a DD dash again more $$$$.
Check out the parts for sale section. I saw a very nice pioneer head unit w/all the stuff needed to install. G/L

And it gets better....whichever player you choose..expect that it will sound like Shizz since the amplified BOSE speakers don't play well with others. BOSE makes a nice system but only if its "all" BOSE. The sound quality will not be as good unless you replace everything which is a pain in these cars with the wiring for BOSE.

For the last 4 years I haven't used the CD player in my car. With 1103 songs in my 5th Gen Nano (just replaced my 4th gen) there's no need to lug around stacks of cd's. Ipod to Car is the way to go.

My CD stopped working also so I wrote a procedure to clean the laser. All the other laser cleaning methods did not work...
I also installed a IPOD in my car.... just because I could ...
