Good story. That reminds me...time to put on my "winter" clear top. My C6 only has the clear top and when it get above 90+ it gets downright toasty. Finally installed a top shade (headliner with suction cups).

The C5's came with the body colored top. There were 2 top options. The first was to replace the body colored with the glass top, so you would only have the clear top. The second was the 2 top option where you got both the clear and the body colored. tops

A friend in our club met a guy in a local parking lot who told him he used to own a C5 Leman's Blue Corvette. He told him when he traded the Vette he forgot to include the front cover and offered it to anyone in the club who wanted it.
...much to our surprise, it was a full Speed Lingerie kit with mirror covers, etc. - About a $1,000 kit.

Was driving and i rolled my windows down and a guy pulls up next to me and says he thinks he has a top for my car and same color so i follow him to his house. Turns out he was the previous owner, and had the solid colored top in his garage just sitting! Totally made my day, always wondered where it had ended up, figured it was sitting in some guys garage!
So, was the guy the original owner of your specific car, or just another C5 with the same color?
