Ilive in Pittsburgh, PA and mine is also asleep for the winter. I travel a lot for work so I just might be out of town until mid December. That would not be a good time to do the bad deed. She is filled, covered and put on life support until probably April.
My vette and the wifes Sky always go into storage around NOV 1st. I usually take the cars over to the stoarge building and bring back the snowmobiles. Its not the same as the vette but still winter fun
i wish i only had to have her put up for six months. she has been sittin in a storage locker since jan.!!!! that ok though i get back in dec. so let the mods begin. but for know im dying on the inside lol
Well she is covered up for the winter filled up her little gas tank to the top put sta-bil in her little tank hooked up her battery tender plus and boy i sure am going to miss her for the next 6 months
Some of us Northern guys are just crazy enough to keep driving it through the entire winter!
I honestly think I would go insane if I didn't drive my C5 for 3 or 4 months (or in the case of the original poster, 6 brutally long months, which is way too early to have put it away!). I know that my car isn't 100% perfect thanks to the ravages of winter, but it still looks good enough that a lot of people think it's a brand new Corvette.
Very sorry I have had the top off since last December. It was hot here today but in another week or two things here will be great again until next June!
Jumping the gun a little arn't you ? We haven't had any snow or ice, there's frost warning for tonight, but hell If I can't run the because of a frost warning then why am I paying on the insurance for? I'm at the other side of the state, but we don't get any ice, snow till December and then the Brine and Salt trucks roll. I don't run the car till bring/saltwater goes down.
As long as the roads aren't wet in the winter and there isn’t too much dust from salt I will take the car out for a drive. Last year the most it sat w/o at least a 10-20min cruise was 4 weeks. Heck we had 5’’ of snow yesterday and since the roads weren’t wet I went for drive today.
