Default Adjusting targa...

I read a post about adjusting the targa top. It mentions loosening the bolts on the handle.

I thought one was the torx bolt, but I've destroyed two torx bits and it hasn't budged. Is there some other adjustment in the top itself?

Yep, read all those before posting.
So how do you loosen the two latch handle bolts? "loosen" doesn't help, because I destroyed two torx bits trying to loosen them. They are in there like lug nuts.

I finally found a torx bit that could stand up to the torque. I've adjusted this thing 6 ways from sunday, the roof still doesn't sit low enough that the weatherstripping lines up with the car's weather stripping.

I was able to close the 1/4" gap by moving the pin back. But the top still needs to be pulled down 1/4" more, and I just don't see a way to do it.
