Default Wheel restoration question

I have two Chromed speedline Z06 wheels that the chrome is peeling off of in various spots. Is there a forum vendor or a company that can remove the chrome? I wouldn't mind them having the factory finish.

What are my options? Thanks

Chrome can be removed with chemicals, which is how it's applied. I wouldn't consider sand blasting which I've heard some recommend in the past. And I wouldn't recommend using Muratic Acid as I've also heard. Unless you know what you're doing with either, you could ruin a set of good oem wheels.

Are there any chrome shops locally near you?

You could contact this company. They have an excellent reputation for applying show chrome to oem factory wheels...

Look in the yellow pages, maybe ask your friendly body shop who they use to re-chrome bumpers

Have them stripped and powdercoated.

This is a big company that does good work. If you don't want to send the wheels to them, check with a local custom wheel shop and see if they can give you a lead on a vendor close by.
