Solved three problems today on my new to me 97 coupe thanks to all of you!
A short search on the forum in the C5 tech section told me how to solve my inoperative drivers power seat, an HVAC issue with hot air coming out the drivers vent and minor among these, how to get my key fobs working!
Been many years since I've been on the forum, just purchased Corvette #8 (in my lifetime), a 1997 black on black coupe! The forum sure has grown since my last visit in 2001 but great to see the expertise is still here when you need it. If I can retrace my steps on the search, I would thank your personnaly, those of you that hit it on the head with my issues!
what was wrong with the power seat. i have the same thing with the lubar and grabers not working on the driver side only, greg
I had moved the drivers seat all the way up the day I got the vette to clean behind it, when I got done cleaning, no power to move it back. Turned out to be a simple fix after unbolting it, I could see the connections underneath which had simply seperated but I wouldn't have known even where to look had I not searched the forum........and now it's really clean under that seat!
How did you solve the HVAC issue with hot air coming out the drivers vent?
I had read a post about pulling and clearing out all HVAC codes with the car running, checked that first but had no codes, then pulling fuses 18 and 27 (which control the HVAC among other things I think). Left them out about 60 seconds as instructed, popped them back in and now I have same temp air blowing out all vents! Cold when I want, hot whern I want.............apparently this resets the acuators(?) that contol some ducts that move air between both sides (but don't quote me here, I am not the tech guy in this). There was a step three in this that involved taking apart the dash and actually fiddling with the accuators, glad it didn't come to this!

Thanks for the info, to you and the OP of this info - never heard of pulling the fuses. Will have to give it a try
