rattle over bumps
Sometimes when I go over bumps at a certain speed, I hear a loud rattle that sounds like a loose deck lid. There are RR tracks near my house and if I go over relatively quick, there's no rattle - just a good healthy thuh-LUMP as one might expect. If I go really slow over the tracks, no problem.
But if I go a speed such as 30 MPH, the car sounds like it's going to rattle to pieces. Compounding the problem is that I'm never really certain where the noise is coming from. Sometimes it sounds as if it's around the gear shift lever, and sometimes it sounds as if it's coming from behind me.
Any thoughts? Loose exhaust maybe?

UPDATE: the rattling went away immediately following changing my targa top from glass to painted last winter. I believe there're posts about fixing the top in this forum, but I can't recall where. Anyway, it's working now.
