...and then imagine adding FI to that. Not sure where you live, but with the right selection of parts in this, you could make srerious power and still remain smog legal (if that matters to you).
I've researched this topic to death. When I have the money, I'm going for a KB s/c set-up. It's probably the absolute best street combo out there. AA, Vortech, etc are great combos as well, but are not realized until higher in the rpm range. The KB is great for a street car the wants a low-end boost that carries through the top. Also, with as little as you drive your car the setup will last you forever. I think the reason many people opt out of a KB setup, is the require hood change. With 10k you can do the full KB setup, hood, and other bolt-on goodies.
Since you can spend $10k at one time, I'd go with the FI route. Don't forget to factor in the cost for a new clutch. You will need one once you go over 430 rwhp, at least I did.
ECS SC600 yielded 551.7 for me, which is typical for this set up! Don't even know it's there at idle! Sleeper Style Baby. Just cracked a 1.62 short time, but had some clutch issues should of been a high 10.9 run. Which ever you choose GL!
