I was driving on the highway at about 70mph when all of a sudden the water temp skyrocketed and the "Reduced Engine Power" & "Coolant Over Temp" appeared upon my DIC. I let off the gas and coasted to a halt with the engine turned off. When I lifted to hood to diagnose the issue, BOTH serpentine belts were off and the coolant was BOILING. The bolt on the Harmonic Balancer was loose and the pulley was not stable although I just had these parts replaced 1 month ago. After pitching a small fit on the side of the road @ 2am, I gathered myself and continued searching for issues. I wasn't able to COMPLETELY locate the source, but there was OIL & COOLANT all over the place.
The engine DID NOT make any kind of sounds that might be considered "Game Over" if you know what I mean, and the shop foreman @ the stealership told me that they would fix the HB, pulley, and the busted seals.
HOWEVER, should I be worried about any major engine problems even though they are not currently apparent?
