Default Good wrenches in AZ

Any recommendations for good Vette shops/mechanics/tuners in Tucson or Phoenix. Thx.

I would start with Xtreme Motorsports in Tempe: http://www.xmsengineering.com/

They are a forum vendor. PM Randy, Blacksedan87 for further information. He is also a forum vendor.

I have taken my wifes '03 to Gateway Chevrolet for some warranty work, etc. For a dealer, they are very trustworthy. One of the service writers is John Sheldon. He's a Corvette owner and they have dedicated Corvette specialists there. No hacks working on Vettes.

Nick

Oh, also check out the Southwest forum. You will get a lot of good rec's there too.

Go to Loud Pedal Motorsports if you get a chance. They are top notch and have the best customer service I have had. I bring both my vettes there, from my wife's C5 driver to my TT 427 LS7 they are the best in the Southwest IMO.

I second the motion for Loud Pedal. They did the engine in my car, and they are top notch. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else, and I have to drive to them from Tucson.

I've had about $15K of performance upgrades done on my C5 by the guys at Xtreem and they are first class! Quality workmanship, attention to detail and most important, trustworthy. If you live in Arizona, I can't think of better hands to trust your "baby" with. Randy, Jan, and the guys are real craftsman at their trade.

Partly correct. The previous owner passed away and the shop was sold to the current owners (same location). I didn't have a history with the previous owner but understand there were significant customer service issues. I know Jan, Scott, and Randy have worked hard to reestablish a high service level and committment to their customers. I'm no gearhead, but would trust the guys to do work on any of my cars. I'm sure there are other good shops in Arizona, just sharing my personal experience.

I spent several hours watching the guys at Xtreme Motorsports work on Corvettes. They are very knowledgeable, and they pay attention to the little details that a lot of mechanics would miss or shrug off.

Give them a call...

Mark Twain said - "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated."

The original owner of Xtreme in Tempe did indeed pass away suddenly last summer. Scott and Jan purchased the shop at the end of last year. In a sense - the old Xtreme is gone. The new Xtreme takes the shop back to it's original vision of being a facility that is predominately a Corvette shop. Xtreme does maintenance, repair and of course performance upgrades to mostly C5 and C6 Corvettes. Xtreme can handle all of the Corvette owner's needs from oil changes to the installation of superchargers.

Unlike some other shops in the valley - we have our own in-house Dyno-Jet and our own in house tuners. Cody and Jan do the tuning using HP-Tuners, EFI-Live, LS1-Edit or the Diablosport Predator, depending on the application. Also - unlike some other shops in the valley, we are Supporting Forum Vendors.

My role is that I operate HRWMotorsports - also a Supporting Forum Vendor within Xtreme. We represent Adam's Quality Polishes, Piloti Shoes, CTEK Chargers, Lloyd's Mats and GHL Exhaust to name just a few. We carry a full line of GM Licensed shirts, hats and outerwear, plus GM Licensed gift accesories.

In short - we are a "full-service" shop. Please stop by or call us, we'd love to give you a tour of the shop and show you our capabilities.

Thank you to those of you that expressed your support for our operation in this thread - the kind words are much appreciated by the whole team!

Steve with a NicD tune would be a great combo and probably least expensive.

There isn't a better tuner in AZ then NicD.

I also recomend Loud Pedal Motorsports, they do exeptional work. Found what the problem was with my Z06 that no one else could.
